Introduction This study makes reflection more prominent than flowers. Blue blossoms lean over dark water, but wavering doubles occupy the center. A small bubble turns a botanical scene into an inquiry about surface, depth, and disturbance. Description Several blue, white-centered flowers grow along the upper edge amid wet green leaves. Below them, a dark pool fills most of the frame. Reflections of stems and blossoms descend into the water, including one large flower near the center-right. At left, a silver bubble with a faint rainbow rim floats above its reflection. A thin white glint crosses the right side. Analysis The high placement of the actual flowers grants the reflective field unusual breadth. Vertical reflected stems guide the eye downward, while gentle horizontal ripples interrupt them and establish the water's surface. Blue blossoms emerge from a restrained palette of green, charcoal, and slate. The bubble's hard circular highlight contrasts with soft petals and irregular reflections. Broad dark passages provide calm negative space, especially across the lower half. Interpretation and Evaluation Reflection doubles life but also renders it unstable, suggesting memory or perception altered by time. The bubble intensifies this theme: perfectly formed for a moment, it is visibly temporary. Actual blossom, reflected blossom, bubble, and reflected bubble create several degrees of presence. The composition is deliberately subdued; some reflected forms nearly disappear into murk, yet this ambiguity rewards slow looking and prevents the scene from becoming merely decorative.
