Introduction This playful pastoral image combines a spare ink drawing of a sheep with a body assembled from dense white blossoms. The animal climbs a sloping field made from dried grasses and tiny yellow flowers. Generous blank space surrounds the figure, allowing its tactile fleece and alert profile to dominate. Description The sheep stands in profile facing right, with four thin black legs stepping uphill. Its head, ears, eye, tail, and hooves are economically outlined. Hundreds of cream petals form an irregular oval torso, projecting visibly from the paper. Beneath it, diagonal stems cross in several layers. Analysis The field’s lower-left to upper-right ascent gives the otherwise static animal convincing forward motion. Long stems echo the angle of its legs, while the rounded floral body interrupts those directional lines with a compact mass. The restricted palette of ivory, straw, muted green, and yellow keeps ink accents legible. Interpretation and Evaluation The sheep appears to be made from the landscape it inhabits, suggesting kinship rather than separation between creature and meadow.
